Desi came into our lives after a long journey of infertility, and a deep longing to become parents. We found Angels through a friend in Junior League and thought the program was incredible. It was fulfilling our need to become parents, and it was giving a child a wonderful place to thrive.
Desi and her older sister were removed from another foster home with allegations of abuse. She was the youngest of 5 siblings already in the foster system. We met her, and that was that. We have never looked back. The first week that Desi lived with us, we found out we were having a baby of our own. What a blessing to have 2 beautiful girls join our family in one year.
The Angels staff made the entire process so smooth. They were supportive every step of the way. We have since moved out of state but keep in touch with Angels FFN and also some of Desi’s birth siblings and relatives.
It is so nice to have an extended family that will support Desi throughout her life and help with her questions about adoption. She is thriving in school, gymnastics, swimming, and has the gift of touching everyone’s heart that she meets. Our hope for anyone considering fostering a child is that you will be prepared to open your hearts and be able to accept the gift that a very special child will give to you for all eternity.
