Angels Collaborations

Working with Others to Improve Foster Care

While Angels is unique in specifically addressing the attachment and bonding needs of foster infants and toddlers, we collaborate with organizations and individuals who have related interests.

Angels is currently working with the following partners:

John Landsverk, Ph.D.

San Diego Children’s Hospital Center for Research on Child and Adolescent Health Services directs all Angels-related research and assessment.

Nancy Haller, Ph.D.

With Applied Psychometrics in San Diego, CA, Dr. Haller evaluates prospective parents with the MMPI-2 screening tool and prepares in-depth assessments of all applicants and gives a recommendation to Angels.

S.D. County Health and Human Services

Angels is a non-treatment Foster Family Agency, and the County of San Diego provides referrals of dependent children under the age of 3 in need of foster families. This collaboration was entered into and is renewed by an annual contract. County social workers oversee cases and make court recommendations on whether to return children to their families or place them for adoption. The assigned Angels social workers work closely with the assigned county social worker to ensure the best interests of the child are always met. San Diego County social workers collaborate with Angels in child placements, reunification, termination of parental rights, and adoption referrals. The county also provides all Angels parents with a monthly food and clothing stipend.

Polinsky Children’s Center

The county’s temporary foster shelter for children refers infants to Angels Foster Family Network for placement in an Angels home.

Endow San Diego, a part of The San Diego Foundation

Not for Profit Organization Endow San Diego, a Partner of Angels Foster Family Network Angels is a proud partner of Endow San Diego, part of The San Diego Foundation. Passion has inspired The San Diego Foundation to put forth a philanthropic initiative called Endow San Diego to inform the people of San Diego about the gift of endowment – the means to give back to the San Diego area. When you create an endowment, you’re creating a gift of hope. Give that gift to Angels this year. Visit www.endowsandiego.org to learn more about different types of endowments.
